"Bus Stop "

“Bus Stop” is a moveable painting based on an image of local commuters waiting for their bus ride. Created on canvas with sculpted fabrics and small panel paintings, “Bus Stop” explores the cultural significance that public transportation plays in society. As a physical object, the bus stop affects our visual landscape. It serves as a public gathering place for people of different backgrounds and demographics. It also defines their geographic position and determines the pace and time at which they can travel from one place to another. As an icon, it has much deeper significance– an economic lifeline for many people who would otherwise be faceless- each with their own story and destination.
